Meet Ruby! The creative force behind Studio Ruby Chew, Ruby is a passionate artist and educator dedicated to making art accessible, exciting, and inspiring for young creatives! With years of experience in drawing, painting, exhibiting and running workshops, she brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to every session.

Background: Ruby is a practicing artist and experienced teaching artist who has been designing and delivering tailored art programs and workshops in Adelaide, interstate, and overseas for over 15 years. With a Master of Teaching and a Visual Arts Honours degree, she’s worked with hundreds of students of a variety of ages and backgrounds, in hands-on, engaging and meaningful art experiences that blend the development of skill, concept, and imagination — not in schools, but in studios, festivals, and community spaces that celebrate creativity and self-expression.

What she brings: Ruby’s classes are all about experimentation, self-expression, and learning through making. Whether guiding students through a painting project or sparking imaginative ideas, she creates a space where creativity thrives.

Fun fact: Ruby is also a DJ, a lover of all things bold and colourful, and loves playing video games.

Emerging Artist & Assistant

Meet Poppy! A talented young artist with a natural ability to connect with kids, Poppy brings fresh creativity and a strong artistic eye to the studio. Recently graduating Year 12 with top results in Visual Art and Design, she plans to study at art school next year.

Background: Having worked in an art and craft supply store for many years, Poppy knows her materials inside out and loves helping students experiment with new techniques! A gifted illustrator, she inspires kids to develop their drawing and design skills.

What she brings: Friendly, patient and full of enthusiasm, Poppy creates a fun and encouraging space where students feel comfortable to express themselves. Always proactive, she’s quick to pick up on students' needs and keep things running smoothly.

Fun fact: Poppy loves Harry Potter, anime, Dungeons & Dragons and other table-top role play games.

Artist, Facilitator & Assistant

Meet Bec! An artist and illustrator with a love for playful storytelling, Bec brings a calm, thoughtful & fun energy to the studio. Inspired by comics, zine culture and nostalgic imagery, her artwork and her work as an educator is all about sparking joy, curiosity and imagination!

Background: With a Bachelor of Media and a creative path shaped by drawing, ceramics and photography Bec has developed a flexible and open approach to art making. She values community, connection and the different ways young artists engage with creativity!

What she brings: Bec creates a supportive and inclusive space where young artists feel comfortable to explore, experiment and share their ideas. With a calm presence and encouraging approach, she helps students build confidence while trying new techniques and developing their own visual voice.

Fun fact: Bec is a collector and has a family of twelve Furbys, a growing collection of Sylvanians, Tamagotchis, and Snoopy treasures!

Emerging Artist & Assistant

Meet Zuzia! A wonderful artist and illustrator who loves storytelling in all its forms, Zuzia is happiest dreaming up characters, drawing digitally and getting completely lost in a good story! Her approach to art is playful and experimental, jumping between different styles, materials and ideas as she develops her own creative practice.

Background: Zuzia is currently studying a Diploma at Adelaide Central School of Art, building on years of self-taught drawing and making. She’s also worked as a volunteer on many council arts programs for children and young people.

What she brings: Zuzia has a real love for imagination and the ideas behind an artwork - whether that means inventing a character, building a strange new world or finding a completely unexpected way to respond to a creative challenge. Her illustration background and love of storytelling make her a great fit for SRC's big ideas, unique prompts and anything that lets young artists take an idea somewhere unexpected!

Fun fact: When she's not drawing or writing, Zuzia loves reading, movies and TV, and going down rabbit holes about everything from art and psychology to social issues and pop culture.

Meet Bek! An artist, photographer and experienced art therapist, Bek brings warmth, creativity and care to every workshop. She loves playful art making and believes creativity is a powerful way to explore ideas, express yourself and build confidence.

Background: With a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design and seven years of experience working in Embedded Art Therapy, Bek has supported children, teenagers and young adults from a wide range of backgrounds in schools and community settings. Alongside her therapeutic work, she has developed her own artistic practice in photography, bringing a thoughtful and observant eye to the world around her.

What she brings: Bek creates a welcoming and supportive environment where every young artist feels seen, encouraged and capable. Her calm nature, empathy and experience working with diverse learners help students feel safe to experiment, take creative risks and discover new ways of expressing themselves through art.

Fun fact: When she's not making art, you'll probably find Bek camping, exploring the coastline, op shopping for retro treasures or spending time with dogs. She's also a huge Radiohead fan!

Meet Eden! A passionate teacher and artist, Eden brings energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to every class. With a love for visual arts and education, she thrives on helping young artists build confidence and explore their creativity.

Background: Completing a Master of Secondary Teaching, with an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Arts and English, she has worked across SA as a preservice teacher and assistant, supporting students in their creative learning.

What she brings: Eden isn’t afraid to get her hands messy - whether guiding kids through painting techniques or encouraging bold ideas! She blends practical art skills with strong teaching experience, creating a space where students feel inspired to take creative risks!

Fun fact: A dedicated footy player, Eden brings the same teamwork and energy to the classroom as she does to the field!

Meet Aeisha! A lifelong creator with art in her veins, Aeisha brings both passion and professionalism to the Studio Ruby Chew team. Raised in a family of artists and makers, creativity has always been her language, and she’s dedicated to sharing that spark with the next generation of young artists.

Background: With a Bachelor of Contemporary Art and a Masters of Teaching, Aeisha has explored ceramics, printmaking, painting, drawing and photography both within education and in her personal artistic practice. She works daily as a high school art teacher and has also run her own successful business as a beauty therapist.

What she brings: Aeisha combines her art practice with her teaching expertise to create safe, expressive spaces where young artists can thrive. She champions creativity as a process rather than just a polished outcome, encouraging bold ideas and celebrating the raw imagination kids naturally bring to the studio.

Fun fact: Outside the studio, Aeisha loves camping and 4x4 adventures with her fiancé, crocheting everything from teddies to cardigans and spending time with her pet snake Serena!
