Morning: The Book That Doesn’t Exist
Young artists will design and paint their own book - a real 3D book shell that can sit on a bookshelf while secretly holding tiny treasures inside! They’ll explore the building blocks of great cover design, including imaginative titles, font, illustration, composition and colour choices, to create a mysterious book artwork - part object and part secret keeper!
Afternoon: The Missing Page
A fragile fragment of an old book has surfaced - mostly picture, with just a few stray words, like a relic from a lost story. Young artists will use the pieces in their artwork, studying the clues before drawing, painting and extending what remains, using problem-solving and imagination to reconstruct what the missing page could have been. At the end, we’ll bring the pages together and discover the unexpected story our puzzle solvers have created!
